Token Rhyme

Token Rhyme is a song-driven acoustic/electric ensemble playing music distilled and inspired by a wide palette of Americana country-blues, and modern rootsy-folk. The long-standing songwriting (and life) partnership of Tracy and Sean Schonfeld, with Tracy’s dynamic vocal delivery, aims to connect with audiences through a balance of lyric integrity and understated instrumental support. The band (Will Firstbrook on guitar, bassist James Sanders, and John Laird on mandolin and acoustic lap steel) has a relaxed, unforced chemistry, and truly values the privilege of playing together. While equally at home on big, open-air festival stages, the group is perhaps even more persuasive in intimate, lower volume settings, and are looking forward to entertaining the SFG audience. Expect to hear original songs, including tracks from their debut cd “Nothing Is Sacred”, with a nod to tradition and classy modern “chamber folk”covers. (Province CD review -- "inventive playing by the band...Tracy Schonfeld frequently instills her songs with forceful phrasing" -- Tom Harrison (Quick Spins, Aug 20, 2010).
